Accessorize! (Part 1)

OK so you have the cloths and you are looking good, your colors match, you ironed and pressed your shirt and pants (and maybe your boxers too, If you anal!), and your about to walk out the door and you about to drive away to your Date, Meeting, Or Party. What are you missing? Accessories! Every man should Accessorize Every Outfit, I don't care if your going to the store to get lunch or if you going to a very important meeting. Some times, and Most of the times; the accessory makes the outfit and you don't even know it! There are many accessories for men that most take for granted. I am going to talk about some and give examples on hot to do it right!

First up Watches! when you look at a watch you most of the time determine what type of man you are about to deal with! I am not saying that its truth, but most men wear one type of watch there whole life. That is where we need to stop! just because you have a favorite watch and it feels good on your wrist does not mean that you have to wear it day-in and day-out. There are certain times for certain watches: Sports watch: Should Only be used for sport! Don't bring it along on your date at 10pm at night, Don't Bring it in the board room meeting!
This is the G-Shock:GLX5600A-3 ($99.00) Anything by G-Shock is a sports watch! This is a good example of a nice sports which you can wear running, or working out.
This is the Nautica Men's BFC Chronograph Watch #N19521G ($195.00) I don't care how much it cost and what the hell it does, if it gives you more than the time and the date, Its a Sports Watch!
Another Option for a Watch is the always classy Pocket watch! They always look good with suits and Vest! I have seen people try and pull of the pocket watch with everyday jeans and shirt but it does not work most of the time! This is The Black Hills Gold Men's Black Face Pocket Watch:WR7010

Stuhrling Original Men's Special Reserve 'Symphony Maestro II' Multi-Function Skeleton Watch #150A.33152 ($170.99)
Next we have Dress Watches, which i consider to be casual watches also! dress watches can be worn in a formal and no formal way. by formal i mean you can wear this watch on a date or in a meeting. But i call it casual also because you can also wear this watch to go shopping! OK yeah if you go shopping in an 3 year old tee-shirt and frayed pants your not going to wear this watch to go along with it! But then the question becomes, Why are you going shopping in an 3 year old tee-shirt and frayed pants? But you can wear this watch with a nice polo and a nice pair of dark washed jeans or a nice patterned shorts.

This is the Citizen Men's Eco-Drive Leather Watch #BM6574-09E ($215.00)

This is the Timex Men's Classic Dress Black Leather Strap Watch #T2K661 ($24.00) Just because its a dress watch does not mean the it has to cost an arm and a leg! When it comes to dress/ casual watches keep it simple and you wont go wrong!

Kanye Style!

Ok so i am only going to say 1 thing about what happened at the VMA's last Sunday. what i have to say is "Its Kanye, If you did not expect him to do something stupid and arrogant, then i think you are the Stupid one!"

OK so now that that's done lets talk about the man behind the glasses! First Yes, He is an Arrogant, Arrogant fool, But He has Great Fashion sense, Kanye is a leader in the fashion world. As of right now Kanye does not have a fashion line but he has designed a line of sneakers for Louis Vuitton. Even looking at his blog you can tell the man has style, every other blog is about fashion. You can always see him at fashion week with somebody!

The reason i wanted to talk about Kanye is that his style is something that not a lot of people are doing today and that is what we need to look out for. His look is Very Preppy with a touch of class! He likes all the Big labels and he has no problem letting you know that and showing it off!

Kanye has been called and calls himself "The Louis Vuitton Don" which i think he has earned the right to be called such name! You can see Kanye without seeing something that LV made on him. Like I said before He has designed a shoe line for LV. And here is some of his work:

Kanye West for Louis Vuitton - Don’s - $870
Kanye West for Louis Vuitton - Jasper’s - $1140

Kanye West for Louis Vuitton - Don’s - $960

Kanye West for Louis Vuitton - Jasper’s - $990

I love the style of the shoes and I think its something new for LV. The Price is CRAZY!, But Like i said before "Its Kanye!" and LV (lol)
he has made another style of shoes for LV, they are boat shoes!

Kanye West for Louis Vuitton - Mr Hudson’s - $840I don't have a price tag for this one, But i am just guessing that its going to be more than the white version!

Urban Outfitters

This week i want to highlight a store that i think has some of the best clothes out there. Urban Outfitters. the thing i like about Urban Outfitters is that when you walk in the store you get a very good vibe and you look around and you can see all of the clothes and the housewares that give you a very bohemian feel and look to the whole store. For me Living in the south when i go into Urban Outfitters I get a very New York Feel. When i say that i mean that the store has a very original style. Ok Lets look at the Clothes!

This is a Standard Mockneck Cardigan Sweater($88.00) I like the deep V and the the whole look of this cardigan.

This is the Feathers Off Tilt Double-Breasted Cardigan ($48.00) Very cool and original.

This is a Charles & 1/2 Fleece Moto Jacket With Hood ($54.00) Like the zipper pockets.

This is a double breasted Hoodie ($78.00) I like this look and the fact that the hood is removable
This is the Standard Asymmetrical Pullover Hood ($58.00) This also comes in gray, but as most things do it looks better in black! LOVE this pullover!

This is Kill City Stretch Twill Junkie Pants ($39.00) I like the red and dark blue but i don't know where anyone would wear Teal?... But Now that i took a 2nd look at them i could see them working but definitely not in the fall!

This is a Standard Fleet Buffalo Check Shirt ($48.00) You cant have Fall with out plaid being in there somewhere! so here it is! Here is a little advice; Don't got overload on the plaid! I do it, You do it, We all do it at some point or another. This shirt come in a variety of colors. What ever you do, If you do happen to buy and wear Plaid This season dont let it be the color red. do something different!

Details

I was looking through this months Details and found a good article on men's style, Its called "10 Rules of style" with Patrick Robinson. Patrick is the creative director for GAP. In the article, which is only 1 page!,

Patrick gives some tips for making your own style and gives some tips on what you can do to give your wardrobe a punch! Here is one of the tips that i think could help a lot of guys out there that are looking for a style. Tip #3. "This may sound sort of silly to most men, but a way to develop personal style is to admire someone you think looks cool who you kind of resemble. No one is going to look like Johnny Depp, so don't go there. But if you need some help, pick someone you dig and watch the way he dresses." That is great advice! what i think he is saying is that you don't have to try and take that persons style but rather try it out and then evolve from that to a wardrobe that you are comfortable with.

I was just looking through some sites and found this store called Oak in New York City that has some very cool clothing for men. Here is the address;
www.oaknyc.com/men
Oak : manhattan

28 bond st.
new york, new york 10012
Here are some things i would buy for fall and that i think could look good with every mans wardrobe:

This is a black hooded poncho ($92.00) By Oaks Own fashion line: Now i know what your thinking a Poncho! "who the hell wants to wear a Pancho!" But My answer is " If no one is wearing it that just means that you start the trend!" Think about it!
This sweater is by hyden yoo and is sold at Oak($210.00): Love the stripes and LOVE the necklineand looks very nice with a dark-wash jean. Also comes in a solid Gary which also looks good.

Hoodie By B.son sold at Oak( $147.00): This hoodie is very neat, there is a colar on the inside of the hoodie, so when the hood is not up you can pop your colar. lol!
Sweat Pants By Oak Black Label sold at Oak($462.00): These sweat pants are very different! they have a dropped-crotch and are made with cashmere!
Sleeveless Wrap By Oak sold at Oak($89.00): At first glance you think this wrap was just a scarf but then you see the back! I like the look of this! This you could wear with anything!

Fall Fashion partie deux

Fall fashion continued...
Look by Ralph Lauren, Ralph Lauren has always had that old school 50's classic countryside look ad i think that this cardigan really works and the red strips on the sleeves are what make it work. I like the tie with it too. The Pants...The rolled up look is coming back it all started with SJP and then Katie Holmes started wearing the style and everyone followed. and now the trend has moved on to men.
More Ralph Lauren, More of the classic Ralph Lauren cardigan. Works well with the classic pinstripe suit.

Looks By Ralph Lauren, The First look is nice with the tight Black shirt with the brown belt and the brown boots. The 2nd look with the fitting black cardigan and the chocolate brown button down and very slim belt works nicely together
Look By D&G, This coat is simply beautiful the buttons are placed exact, the inside fur looks like its lined throughout the whole thing. The gray charcoal color and the black go well with about anything. the fitting belt makes the coat look even better when worn.

Looks By D&G, First look i like its sort of the Band coat/Pea Coat look with a zebra looking fur on the inside. The 2nd Look is a longer Pea Coat down to the knee. uses the zebra look on the outside
Look By D&G, this coat has to be my favorite coat of this line. Its the Band Coat/ Pea coat look and with the waist of the coat coming in a little. The design is top notch! This sort of coat reminds me of early 90's- Late 80's Michel Jackson.
Looks By Y-3, First look is a very plane sweater but i think this look is more about the pants. which are very very big and had large pockets, I don't know if they work that well? but they are unique. 2nd look, everyday looking cardigan with a back button down under it with solid black pants with back boots.
Look by Y-3, The reason i like this look is the cardigan under the coat. its very cool, the neck line goes off on to the shoulders and down the back, which the inside is black

Look by Rag & Bone, I like the side zip and i don't know if this is sleeveless or not but it looks like it is. i don't like the blue slacks
Look by Rag & Bone, I think that this shirt looks nice, it almost looks like there are 2 different pieces it kind of reminds me of a Fencing vest. Ok, I like the style of the pants but i don't think that blue works. I do like the tying on the pants. I can see that working on maybe a charcoal black colored pant
